Wind Turbine Tools was founded by Jim Daugherty, who has 38-plus years experience in fastener applications, torque installation, calibration issues, and the tools necessary to accomplish these functions.

 

In 1992, extensive interaction started with the newly developing United States wind turbine industry to supply torque wrenches, hand tools, and fasteners. Maintenance, repair and operations of these items was found to be necessary on the maintenance side of the industry. This interaction continued through 1999 when developers, erection contractors and wind turbine manufacturing companies were brought into the equation.

 

 

 

Contact Information

Because of these interactions, a vast knowledge base has been built from the contacts with manufacturers, developers, contractors, operation & maintenance and service & warranty companies. We continue to forge additional relationships in all fields of wind energy generation, whether they be customer based or supplier based.

 

In 2002, we established Wind Turbine Tools, Ltd. to service the rapidly growing Canadian market. Also in 2002 we installed a complete state of the art calibration and repair facility for torque tools in our U.S. operations headquarters. Because of our exceptionally high standards for calibration and repair of torque wrenches, we have become the only factory-authorized repair facility for Stahlwille torque wrenches in Canada and the United States. We are currently adding additional equipment to perform calibration on higher-capacity torque tools, and will be a leader in the industry by the spring of 2008.

 

In February 2003, Wind Turbine Tools was appointed the wind energy representative for TorcUp hydraulic torque wrenches and ITH hydraulic bolt tensioners.
